The Rud-SpanSet website was a challenging yet rewarding project that required a completely custom design and significant WooCommerce modifications. Instead of a traditional e-commerce setup, the store was transformed into a quote request system, adapting the entire purchasing flow to better suit the client’s needs. This involved deep customization of product and category pages, the cart functionality, and even the email system to ensure a seamless experience.
A major focus was placed on the product pages and catalog structure. Each product required numerous custom fields, with additional data dynamically displayed depending on the product type. Some products needed CAD file uploads, while others had technical specifications, certifications, or downloadable resources. The category pages were also highly customized, allowing users to easily filter and navigate through hundreds of products spread across multiple categories. This level of detail and flexibility ensured that customers could find the right products quickly and request quotes with minimal friction.
Given the scale of the project—with hundreds of products and dozens of categories—meticulous attention was needed for both development and performance optimization. A large amount of custom PHP and CSS was implemented to achieve the required functionality and design precision. Beyond development, strong SEO foundations were laid using SEOpress, with detailed configurations to improve search visibility. Additionally, Google Analytics and Search Console were fully integrated to track user behavior and optimize the site’s performance over time.
The project pushed WooCommerce’s flexibility to its limits, but the end result was a high-performing, user-friendly, and well-optimized platform that met the client’s specific business needs.
